Mount Kilimanjaro
Stand on the highest point in Africa. At 5,895 meters, Kilimanjaro is the world's tallest free-standing mountain and one of the most accessible major summits on Earth. No technical climbing experience required—just determination and the right team.
From Jungle to Glacier
Mount Kilimanjaro is more than just a mountain—it is a journey through five distinct climate zones. You begin in the lush rainforest at the base, where monkeys chatter in the canopy. As you climb, the landscape shifts to heath and moorland, then alpine desert, and finally the frozen, lunar-like summit zone. Each day on the mountain feels like entering a different world.
Despite its height, Kilimanjaro is achievable for most reasonably fit hikers. The most popular routes—Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, and Rongai—each offer a different experience, from the "Whiskey Route" (Machame) with its dramatic scenery, to the "Coca-Cola Route" (Marangu) with its hut accommodation, to the quieter Rongai route with its northern approach.
But the mountain is not to be underestimated. Altitude sickness affects many climbers, and choosing the right route and the right number of days is critical to your success. At Zanora, we provide fully supported treks with experienced guides, porters, and cooks who ensure your safety and comfort every step of the way. Our guides are trained in altitude sickness detection and carry oxygen and emergency equipment on every trip.
